We are at the beginning of our maple syrup making for the year. So far, we have made 12 oz of this delicious essence. I really don’t know why more people aren’t doing it, it is so simple and highly rewarding. Some say you need twenty or thirty trees to make it worth while, but I have first hand experience with making this confection from only a few… And we are not done yet.
That’s so cool! If i had a maple tree, I’d be doing it. My husband and kids absolutely love it.
Tammy, you can also tap into trees other than the sugar maple. Some other trees you can tap into are; Box Elder, Hickory, Walnut, Silver Maple, and Black Maple. If your friends, or local family farm have any of these trees around, you may be in luck:)
